Evergreen manufactures open-web wood floor trusses
for many applications. Typical depths are 12 to 24 inches;
however we can design deeper or shallower configurations.
We can produce floor trusses with trimmable edges to allow
on-site adjustment. Some building supply houses stock our
16 inch depth, trimmable edge product which is useful in
many applications.
Floor trusses are favored
by builders for many reasons:
• Economy:
Labor savings due to light weight, ease of installation
with job site labor, open webs, and fast close-in, result
in overall lower in-place cost. When you use prefabricated
floor trusses you reduce job-site errors, labor and clean-up.
The risk of pilferage is reduced. Faster close-in means
shorter time to occupancy.
• Architectural Enhancement:
With HVAC, electrical and other systems routed
through the floor, fur-downs are eliminated.
• Open-web is superior to wide width and engineered
wood:
HVAC and electrical contractors’ costs bids are reduced
by eliminating channel boring costs. These contractors may
or may not bore through solid members at structurally correct
points. Open webs eliminate that time-consuming uncertainty.
• The superior 3 1/2"-wide nailing surface on
floor trusses is twice the width of old-fashioned joists.
More width allows for better fastening of sub-flooring.
• Trimmable edge floor trusses allow for on-site adjustment.
• Consistent Quality:
Shop fabricated on precision machinery in accordance with
established standards. Our trusses are designed on state
of the art computer software and built on precision, computer-controlled
jigging systems.
• Environmental Compatibility:
Wood is the most energy efficient of major building products,
and the only one from a renewable resource. With the great
strength of trusses the need for wide width lumber is reduced.
Specially-grown smaller trees can be used, reducing pressure
to cut old growth trees.
